About
A passion for the written word
I've spent my career in the company of stories — reading them, shaping them, and helping authors find the clearest, most powerful version of their voice.

My background
Credentials
- —BA in Business Management
- —20+ years in-house editorial experience
- —Member, numerous national literary organizations
- —Specialist in literary fiction, memoir, and narrative non-fiction
I began my editorial career working in-house at a radio station, moved on to television, and eventually to print and a newspaper where I eventually was promoted to editor. I had the privilege of working closely with debut and established writers across fiction and narrative non-fiction. Over the years, I developed a deep appreciation for the craft of editing — not as a corrective process, but as a collaborative one.
After a decade in traditional publishing, I moved into freelance editorial work and took on book projects full time. Today, I work with a small number of authors at a time, offering the kind of close, thoughtful engagement that a manuscript truly deserves.
My editorial approach is rooted in respect for the author's vision. I don't impose a house style or a personal aesthetic — I ask questions, listen carefully, and work to understand what you are trying to achieve. Then I help you achieve it more fully.
Editorial Philosophy
Editing as conversation
"The best editing is invisible. It leaves the author's voice intact — only clearer, stronger, and more fully itself."
I believe every manuscript has its own internal logic — its own rhythm, its own rules. My job is to understand that logic before I begin to work within it. I read your manuscript twice before I write a single note: once as a reader, and once as an editor. The first read tells me what the book is trying to be. The second tells me how to help it get there.
Respect for voice
Your voice is the most important thing on the page. I work to strengthen it, never to replace it.
Honesty with care
Good editorial feedback is honest. It is also kind. I tell you what I see — clearly, directly, and with genuine investment in your success.
Collaboration over correction
I offer suggestions, not mandates. Every editorial note is an invitation to a conversation about your work.
